Listen: President Trump helps celebrate one of ND’s last living “Rosie The Riveters”
DAWSON, N.D. (KVRR) — That audio might have been a little hard to make out but that was President Trump on the phone wishing Irene Sprague a happy 100th birthday, and telling her to stick around another 30 or 40 years.
Sprague is one of North Dakota’s last known living “Rosie The Riveters” who worked during World War II and helped power the allied to victory.
During her birthday celebration in Dawson, North Dakota: about 45 minutes east of Bismarck, Sen. Kevin Cramer and Sen. John Hoeven presented her with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol and a Rosie the Riveter Congressional Gold Medal for her service.
