Sharing the Stage in a History-Making Moment
FARGO — They’re two of the oldest performing arts groups in the metro.
And now, they’re doing something entirely new: a a joint production of Puccini by the Fargo-Moorhead Opera and the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony.
The two groups’ executive directors came up with the idea about a year ago.
They’ve occasionally sent artists back and forth to perform with each other, but never done a totally joint performance.
In all, about sixty artists will be sharing the stage.
Executive Directors Rebecca Thiel and Lucas Wood joined the Morning Show to talk about the show, what you’ll see and hear (including what they call “an intense” hour-long full-length opera to begin the show,) and what they learned along the way — along with a performance from Puccini’s “Tosca” by Opera Artistic Director Joshua Kohl and Symphony Music Director Peter Zimmerman.
