YMCA hosts ‘April Food Day’ to give back to neighbors in need

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — This is “April Food Day”, a day to restock food shelves and mini food pantries.
The one-day food drive is taking place at several YMCA of the Northern Sky locations from Fargo to Fergus Falls.
Nationally, 1 in 5 kids face food insecurity, as do 1 in 9 adults.
YMCA has continued to be a helping hand in the community by providing a Free Mini Food Pantry.
Items that have been donated include canned vegetables and fruits, pasta, rice, and peanut butter.
“Just doing something like this helps the community in general. And I love seeing the community come together and helping others in the community. And a lot of people don’t realize that their neighbor could be facing food insecurity, so this is just a great thing to do,” said Katie Anderson, Food Program Director for YMCA of Northern Sky.
Anyone looking to support the program can stop by any YMCA with non-perishable goods.
