Red River Valley Community Smashes Donation Goal for Teddy Bear Posse

Thousands of Bears Donated From Across the Region

RED RIVER VALLEY — The feeling of joy and warmth is coming to thousands of local kids thanks to the Teddy Bear Posse.

This cuddly campaign’s mission is for first responders to ease distressed small children by giving them a friend during traumatic situations.

The goal of the campaign was to bring in 1,000 bears, but community partners smashed that mark, donating nearly 4,000 teddy bears in a 12 week period.

Midwest Radio Market Manager Dan Cash said this campaign is a way for the community to come together as a unit.

“When we first talked about it, we thought it was an essential thing that we should bring to Fargo-Moorhead because the community is so giving,” said Cash. “It doesn’t matter the circumstance. If there’s any kind of issue or concern, or if somebody needs something, this community reaches out better than any community, I’ve ever seen.”

If there are any teddy bears leftover, the stuffed animals will be donated to other local charities across the F-M area.
