Former Governor Pawlenty Addresses GOP Lawmakers as New Session Begins

The former governor is still deciding if he wants to run for his old office after Gov. Dayton steps down

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty made a stop at the Capitol as he considers running for his old job.

Pawlenty’s visit came just hours before the 2018 legislative session began.

He says he addressed Senate Republicans about working with Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton in his final year in office.

His visit to the Capitol comes as he inches toward deciding whether to run for governor again this fall.

State lawmakers return to work with a long to–do list.

Squaring Minnesota’s tax code with the recently passed federal tax cuts is one of the top priorities.
