Social Distancing: The Taste Of Victory

Pizza Honors Spuds After Winning Best HS Nickname In Minnesota

High School football is delayed until spring in Minnesota this year due to COVID-19, but you can still celebrate a rousing Spuds victory Thursday anyway.

The Spuds won the Minnesota State High School League Nickname Challenge, beating 63 other mascots across the state. That’s that winning tater. The contest was conjured up as kind of a way to still compete during the pandemic.
The Spuds beat the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms by less than a percent in the final.
To honor the final two, Pizza Barn in Princeton, Minnesota created pizzas inspired by the two final schools.

Their pizza of the month for August is “The Spuddy”.
It’s got a garlic butter base that’s their own secret recipe.
Then they tried tater toppings until they landed on roasted baby red potatoes with rosemary and garlic.
You got cheddar and mozzarella, bacon crumbles, chives and some seasoning salt on top.
And it comes with a side of sour cream. I’m salivating.
And here’s where I get to pretend I’m Oprah and say you can get on that delicious victory.

We will be driving down to the Pizza Barn on Thursday to pick up take and bake of …“The Spuddy”A pizza created to…
