LIVE: Pet Connection: Meet Valli
WEST FARGO — She’s a tiny little parrot with a lot of personality and with the story she’s lived through so far, it’s no wonder Valli “Velociraptor” the Quaker parrot has such a spicy side.
Rescue worker Cassa Gertsema says Valli came in from a hoarding situation to CAARE Avian Rescue, and during her time before intake, developed some cage aggression, which she says is common for this species.
That means whomever adopts her will need to give her time and patience.
But she hasn’t lost her playful spirit entirely. Valli likes to dance when you sing for her, and once she does bond, she forms a very strong attachment.
She likes to cuddle with Gertsema now that they’ve connected and started to build the bird’s trust back.
And best of all, CAARE is almost ready to reopen their West Fargo facility.
They’ve got it cleaned up and almost ready to operate again after the outbreak of the deadly bird virus last year.
That means it’ll soon be safe again for them to bring in birds, and safe for you to visit and maybe fall in love with a bird of your own.
