Minnesotan may have been exposed overseas to person on board cruise ship with deadly hantavirus

ST. PAUL (KVRR/AP) — There is now a Minnesota connection to that cruise ship that had a deadly hantavirus outbreak overseas.
Minnesota Department of Health is monitoring a person who may have briefly been exposed overseas to someone who was on board.
The person does not currently have symptoms.
They say health risks to the public remain very low.
A doctor in Paris says a French woman is being treated with an artificial lung after being infected.
World Health Organization says the outbreak has now reached 11 total reported cases worldwide, nine of which have been confirmed.
Three people on the cruise ship died.
More information on hantavirus can be found on the MDH Hantavirus website and CDC’s About Hantavirus website.
