Rapid Tests Coming To North Dakota As Quarantine Rules Updated

BISMARCK, N.D. — Gov. Doug Burgum and the department of health are updating the rules for the quarantining of close contacts to COVID-19 positive people.

It applies if both parties were wearing masks during the time of exposure.

“The close contact will not need to self quarantine at home but we will ask this close contact to self-monitor,” said Kirby Kruger the Department of Health Disease Control Director.

Burgum calls it a common-sense approach that creates an incentive for people to wear face coverings and provides for a more positive school experience.

He also announced that 14,000 rapid tests are heading to North Dakota.

They provide a result in 15 minutes, do not need to be sent to a lab and are 97% accurate.
