UPDATE: Charges dropped against one of two suspects in West Fargo kidnapping case

UPDATE (2021) — Charges were dropped against Victor Toribio as there was no evidence he was part of the crime.

Jose Toribio was sentenced to one year in prison as well as a nearly $1,000 fine. In 2019, Jose’s kidnapping charge was deemed a misdemeanor, according to court documents.

WEST FARGO, ND (2017) — A family dispute about a relationship has landed two men in jail with kidnapping charges in West Fargo.

Jose Toribio, 44, and his brother,  Victor Toribio are accused of kidnapping 21-year-old Dylan Sprague and threatening him over his relationship with Jose’s daughter.

Authorities say Sprague was taken from a West Fargo home by the Toribios and dropped off in Richland County.
