LIVE: Giving the Gift of Health for Giving Tuesday

FARGO — We all take a healthy interest in getting and giving gifts for the holidays.

But there’s no gift like the gift of health — and this year you can help bring it to more than forty families in the region.

The nonprofit Lend a Hand Up” is launching this year’s Holiday Hand Up giving campaign today.

The families they help are struggling with the financial problems brought on by difficult medical diagnoses, trauma, or a loved one’s death.

When you donate online they’ll add twenty percent of its value to your gift.

One of those families is that of Sandra Sherman, a single mom who just found out she has a disease that will cost her a liver.

She’s traveling back and forth to the Mayo Clinic for care, and eventually a transplant, while working and raising two teenage boys.

She took time out from her treatment, two jobs, and full-time mothering to sit down for a live in studio interview with the Morning Show, along with Lend a Hand Up Director Jeana Peinovich, about how the program works and what it’s like to feel the community pitch in on her behalf this holiday season.
