22nd Annual DL Vintage Snowmobile Rally and Swap Meet
The event brings in snowmobile enthusiasts from far and wide to compare crafts and to compete.
DETROIT LAKES, MN (KVRR) – Outdoor sports enthusiasts braved the cold to ride and admire their prized antique snowmobiles.
The 22nd Annual DL Vintage Snowmobile Rally and Swap Meet kicked off in front of Zorbaz at about 8 AM.
21 trophies were given out in the showcase portion of the day, where the sleds were judged in individual classes, while riders even competed for best antique apparel.
Then it was time to ride, with participants jetting out across the lake to places like the Sandbar or Lakeside Tavern.
Event organizers say that it’s the variety in these sleds that keeps people coming back year after year.
“What I always say about all the shows is; you’ll never go to a show and not see something different,” said Wayne Schlauderaff.
“You’ll always see a different sled.”
Over $10,000 worth of cash and prizes were given out over the course of the day – including the grand prize: a 1976 restored Ski-Doo RV340.
