WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Dogs of all shapes and sizes took to the skies in West Fargo on Saturday – at least for a few seconds, that is.

Sheyenne River Kennels hosted their second-ever Dock Diving event.

That’s the athletic competition where dogs see how far they can leap after a thrown toy – splashing down in a nice pool of water.

Kennel staff said dock diving is a great way to keep your pets active in ways besides the typical walks.

“I really wanted to have a dock event every year just because there’s not a lot of dog sports in the area and it’s really fun to let people learn about dog sports,” said Kati Thom of Sheyenne River Kennels.

“A lot of dogs are just pets, they sit at home – but this is a fun activity to let some energy out, get some exercise.”

Registration was free, and there were no size categories or classes – any kind of dog was welcome to try and see how far they could go.
