75th Annual Model Airshow Brings in Record Participation and Attendance
Over 80 pilots signed up to fly, with hundreds showing up to watch over the weekend.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – Fans in attendance at the 75th annual Model Airshow and RC Fun Fly were treated to a distinct sound many crowds don’t get to witness – the roar of a gas-powered turbine engine.
That’s because the Valley RC Flyers pulled out all the stops to make this show a special one, and that means going beyond the traditional electric engines for their flying armada.
It was a recordbreaking event in terms of participants and attendance.
Club leadership was amazed at the turnout while fans loved the action on display.
“To see the public come out to our event is really exciting. It’s just an awesome feeling to see all these people here,” said Flyers vice-president Scott Geenoch.
“Those turbines were unbelievable,” added Leighton Lee. “I’ve never seen one of those models before – it was pretty amazing to watch.”
The club says over 80 pilots signed up to fly during the three-day extravaganza.
