Pet Connection: Meet Goggles

FARGO — Goggles is the most gratifying kind of kitten — the type of cat that, the instant you pick him up to cuddle him, he starts to purr.

This little bundle of fun and snuggles is only four months old, and came in to Homeward Animal Shelter by way of the pound.

By then, he had picked up the feline leukemia virus.

It’s an incurable disease that’s highly contagious, and it’s spread commonly amongst unvaccinated cats.

While it hasn’t affected his overall health or energy level, there is no treatment, and it can eventually shorten a cat’s lifespan.

That means Goggles will need to go to a home where there are no cats, or cats that are already feline-leukemia-positive themselves.

It cannot be spread to other species, so homes with dogs or just humans are fine.

If you can’t take Goggles home, there’s another chance to meet more Homeward Animal Shelter kittens at this weekend’s Cat Video Fest at the Fargo Theatre.
