Don Haney Prepares to Call it a Career
The legendary broadcast journalist has been at KFGO for well over 30 years.
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Don Haney is calling it a day after a long, illustrious career in broadcast journalism.
He’s seen just about everything in decades of work, from the disastrous 1997 floods in Fargo to the Standing Rock protests in 2016, which even left him a little banged up.
KFGO news director Paul Jurgens says he has nothing but respect for Don and that his shoes will not be easy to fill.
“It’ll be a tough legacy to replace here at KFGO and really across the Red River Valley,” said Jurgens.
Don says he’ll miss his job, but he’ll always retain a connection with the market he’s loved so dearly.
“I’ll never forget the people here, and I’ll be listening to the radio all the time,” he said with a smile.
Don says he plans to use his free time to see his adult children more often and to listen to more of his records.
