Plains Art Museum Kicks Off Holiday Concert Series
The performance was preceded by an announcement that the museum will officially be partnering with the Smithsonian.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The Plains Art Museum kicked off a weeklong series today showcasing something other than visual pieces.
It’s their annual free holiday concert series, where for one week there’s a different musical act performing in the museum’s main lobby at noon every day.
First up were saxophonists from Concordia College, who performed classical standards for a large crowd.
Museum staff were very pleased by the opening day attendance.
“It’s fantastic. I know we already broke 100 people here on the first day, and we tend to see the crowds grow over the course of the week as people get more and more familiar with what we’re doing,” said Erin Shapiro, director of the museum. “It’s a great opportunity to come with some friends, some family.”
Before the performance, Shapiro made another big announcement – the Plains has officially become the first museum in the state of North Dakota to be affiliated with the Smithsonian.
More information on that partnership will be released in January.
