Johnson announces a third run for Fargo City Commission

Anna Johnson

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) —  Anna Johnson is the first candidate to declare that she is a candidate for Fargo City Commission in 2026.

The local artist and business owner says she has a progressive vision for Fargo.

Johnson says city staff is overworked and that’s unacceptable.

“I think we need to make sure our staffing needs are taken care of first and foremost. The staff do the people’s business, and those jobs are their livelihoods; staff are overworked and that’s unacceptable. The City Commission should be an ally to city staff so that our city can provide better support and services to our residents,” said Johnson in a statement.

She also says the city needs to look at its budget from top to bottom.

Johnson lost the last time she ran for city commission in 2024.

She also ran in 2022 and lost.

The commission seats of Denise Kolpack and Dave Piepkorn are up in June.

Piepkorn cannot run again due to term limits.

The position of mayor will also be on the ballot as Mayor Mahoney ends his final term in office.
