One year later following deadly tornado in Enderlin
Cass County Sheriff and deputy share what they did that evening

ENDERLIN, N.D. (KVRR) — Nearly a year ago, an EF-5 tornado touched down near Enderlin, tearing through several homes and killing three people.
Cass County Sheriff Deputies, surrounding agencies, and storm chasers made their way to southeastern North Dakota after reports of a tornado.
Large trees and power lines were down.
Properties left in shambles.
Now, nearly a year later, deputies return to the scene where trees still remain as they once were, and some have taken to rebuilding a new home.
“In this situation, the amount of devastation and destruction that the tornado caused, you’re kind of helpless in that situation. There’s not much we can do immediately in a situation like that,” said Corp. Ryan Hutton, Cass County Sheriff.
“We’ve learned things. A lot of it is going to be just how we search an area, once destruction has come through and working through mobile instant command situations, medical, mass casualty type prep situations, and things of that nature,” said Jesse Jahner, Cass County Sheriff.
