LIVE: Bethany’s Buddies
FARGO — Matchmaking can be a tough line of work for anyone.
And when it comes to finding the perfect match for a senior, the standards get even higher.
That’s why the “Bethany’s Buddies” program at the Bethany Retirement Living is such a stroke of inspiration.
The program brings in senior dogs from 4 Luv of Dog rescue to visit the residents at their assisted living centers.
It helps in two ways: first, it gives the residents a lift to see and interact with the dogs in their homes.
And it helps connect the senior dogs — who are sometimes overlooked by potential adopters — with people who can see their charm and sweetness who then reconsider wanting a younger dog.
Bethany’s Brianne Anderson, who coordinates the program, along with 4 Luv of Dog’s Mandy Flanagin, came in to the Morning Show along with adoptable senior dog Dolly Pawton to talk about the Bethany’s Buddies program, its parent program Seniors 4 Seniors, and why older dogs have so much to offer.
