Pet Connection: Meet Luke Skywhisker
FARGO — He may not have quite as famous a life story as his namesake, but Luke Skywhisker of Cat’s Cradle shelter in the metro has a similar mystery about who his original pet parent is.
He fetched up by way of the West Fargo pound about a month ago, but little else besides his approximate age of about 8 years is known about him.
That’s strange, because unlike a lot of strays, someone before he came in had Luke microchipped.
Typically, pet experts say microchips are your best bet toward reuniting missing pets with their owners.
But in spite of the chip, Luke’s owner couldn’t be found.
Whoever had him before raised one great cat.
He’s laid back and enjoys being cuddled, and gets along well with his cat roommates at the shelter.
Luke doesn’t seek out laps, but that’s okay — he’ll let you know politely and find a comfortable place to settle nearby.
Cats can live twenty years or even longer, so although he’s a mature kitty, he’s got a long healthy life ahead of him.
