Pet Connection: Meet Fable
MOORHEAD — In spite of her name, we don’t know much about little Fable’s origin story.
She wasn’t an owner surrender, so the folks at 4 Luv of Dog don’t know much about her including what breeds she is or even exactly how old she might be.
But this little dog is an open book when it comes to affection and playfulness.
They think she might be all of three years old, but based on her level of puppy energy she could be quite a bit younger.
Where ever she lived before she came to stay in 4 Luv’s rescue facility, she was in a place where she picked up some manners.
Fable knows how to sit and walk on a leash, and while she will mouth your hand, she’s very good about bite inhibition and knows how to touch people gently.
She has tons of energy and just wants to play and sit in your lap.
That tracks with the mix they think she might be, a border collie, which is a breed known for its high energy and intense focus.
Border collies are widely considered to be the top breed for word recognition, which means they are highly trainable, but need lots of tasks and activity to shine.
She is excellent with kids, having been surrounded by about a dozen eager children at one public meet-and-greet and dealing with all the attention with aplomb.
However, even a dog as bright and sweet as Fable needs foster care, which will help her stay well-socialized and sharp on her house dog manners.
So if you’re looking to get involved and help ease the crowding at the shelter, check out 4 Luv’s website.
